The vitamin A1 (C20H30O) is a diterpene, is contained in the milk and cod liver oil.
Tetraterpenes - beta carotene
The β-carotene (beta carotene C40H56O) is a tetraterpene which has a structure similar to that of vitamin A1. Carotenoids (substances similar to carotene) are widespread in nature. Have a large number of conjugated double bonds, so are usually colored substances.
